Who are we?

We are a group of men and women that would like to change the alimony, otherwise known as spousal support, laws in Arizona.  The laws are vague and are not meant to try and get the receiver to work toward self sufficiency.   Unlike child support, there is no defined duration (or even a limit) or amount of alimony.  It is determined by the judge.  This leads to expensive court battles with nobody winning but the attorneys that are being paid thousands of dollars.  Long duration alimony payments have an effect on a second marriage.  With the 2nd wife/husband now supporting the ex.  This is detrimental to both parties with one being stuck in involuntary servitude and the other that is not being forced to work toward self sufficiency.  Especially when there are children involved.  With one person supporting someone else instead of giving more to their kids.

Our Mission:

Amend the Arizona alimony laws to give the judges clear guidelines with goals that:

Support self-sufficiency and independence of both parties

Restrain the duration of marital welfare to a reasonable duration

End expensive lawyer battles over vague rules and interpretations

Provide equal and consistent application of the law

What can you do?

The laws are not going to change by themselves and we need to stand up and make it known.  Here are some ways that you can make a difference.
